New Home of the Friday Night Football Show: Power 95.7 FM PDF Print E-mail
The Sports Zone Magazine and Sports Zone Radio have announced a new radio partner in 2009 for The Friday Night Football Show.  Power 95.7 FM is the new home for the show, where the show can be heard every Friday night this fall, from 5 to 6:45 pm for the First & Ten Pregame Show and the Ace Hardware Scoreboard Show from 9:30 to 10:30.  The Scoreboard show follows the Power 95.7 Game of the Week broadcast, another production of Sports Zone Radio.

The Friday Night Football Show has been on the air in the White Mountain region for 16 years, first hosted by Roy Roberts as a way to get scores of regional games to listeners immediately after the games ended.  Prior to that, football fans would wait several days to read scores and highlights in state and local newspapers.  By providing comprehensive and immediate coverage, and with the ongoing participation of nearly every regional coach, the Friday Night Football Show has revolutionized sports media in the White Mountains.

Floyd Simmons has been co-hosting the FNF Show for several years and will continue to be a part of the program for 2009.  He is joined by many of the same voices that have been a part of the show for years including Byron Brown, Rich Jones, Greg Perkins, Joe Renko, John Roller, Dan Sherwood, Patrick Walker, Joe Tames and Richard Watkins.

“I could not be more proud of the job our announcers and staff do every week on the Friday Night Football Show,” said host Floyd Simmons.  “These guys work hard at providing the best coverage in the region and they are held to the highest standards.  We also look forward to working this year with Power 95.7 FM.  They have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome and they believe in the Friday Night Football Show as much as we do!”

Power 95.7 FM General Manager Jean Barton was elated at the new partnership, "It is a privilege for Power 95.7 to be the new home of the Friday Night Football Show, as well as Sports Zone Radio.  Professional sports coverage sums up the Sports Zone Radio team, led by the king of local sports himself, Floyd Simmons.  Power 95.7 and Sports Zone Radio are joined together in the common goal of providing the White Mountains with the most extensive coverage of local sports possible."

The Friday Night Football Show will kick off on Power 95.7 FM on Friday, August 28th, live from the NAU Skydome where Show Low opens up their season against 4A opponent Moon Valley High School.  The show can be heard every Friday during football season from 5 pm to approximately 10:30 pm on the radio, and streamed live on the internet on
